At 70, I am old enough to remember the segregation in my little southern Oklahoma town. I can also remember being taught how the "blacks" were "less than" and "not equal to" us WHITE people. I'm horrified by that now as an adult, but when I visit my three sisters who still live in the South, I can tell you attitudes and treatment hasn't changed much if at all. DeSantis will surely take this country horrifically backwards.
