Denial was also my problem, and I am now three years past the anniversary of my second total hip replacement. I was also at an almost immobile point before surgery, with a cane full time and unrelenting pain. I REGRET greatly how long I took to decide to do the first surgery. Best decision I ever made was to improve my quality of life and get them both replaced. I seldom even think of them now. I have an occasional pain, but nothing compared to "before". I encourage anyone on the fence to make the best decision and go for it.
