Recently I became aware of the pervasive nature of Instagram. I started looking into this because a friend offered me a "cat window gym", verbally, in person, and after looking it over and realizing it was too big, I passed on it. Within 4 hours my online feed was FLOODED with cat trees, cat gyms, cat window seats, etc. I never googled, searched for, discussed, or mentioned cat accessories anywhere. However, my phone was on and with me when I was at my friend's home about two hours away from my own home. I am still quite uncertain as to how the information was gathered, but it was undeniably gathered, then sold to advertisers. What CAN we do? The debate goes on.
