I’m not proud I decided to stay closeted to him, but that was a personal choice based on a lot of factors, not least of which that I couldn’t afford to lose his business and I had no idea if I could trust him.

So true...25 years ago I had to be extremely careful who I talked to about my relationship. My teaching job would have been at stake, as well as my business. I am so proud to be able to say "My husband" these days!
