Thank you for remembering your friend with such empathy and a yearning to understand him. There is so much in your story that I could identify with, in your friend. I spent the first 36 years of my life running from being gay, and I am so happy I "blew the closet doors off" in time to have the past 32 plus years with my husband. I'm sorry for Jerry....
