There is so much truth in your article of writing. In my workplace, there are several positions that now have a "shelf life" of about six weeks. I also no longer bother learning the name of the most recent "placeholder", because I know they will be gone in no time at all. The day of the "career" truly seems to have vanished, for many of the reasons you cited in your excellent piece.
