When my now 35 year old son was in school, Aspergers was not on the radar. Much too late in his life I recognized that he had all of the classic signs. He now struggles with addiction problems and is so adrift I fear he will not make his 40th birthday. Thank you for a light in the darkness on this, and for telling your experience. I taught secondary level for 30 years, and never tolerated bullying behavior, and did not stay silent when I saw other teachers ignoring that issue. I hope all teachers are being trained to recognize when this is happening, those guilty of tormenting students are quickly dismissed and dealt with.
