I write on the MEDIUM platform when the mood strikes. I do not force a story or try to publish every day. I love the peace I have in finally releasing some thoughts that have traveled with me for a good part of my lifetime. Or the act of putting a new thought down in words to see where it will lead. I have a special place for writing down these thoughts and ideas.

The first story I wrote on Medium two short years ago is probably the hardest one I will ever put down on paper. The story is not an easy or pleasant read. It is not on my paywall. It is not a story I direct readers to unless I feel it is relevant to help them. I wrote it during the COVID shutdown days, and I wrote the story in the nurturing space of our Civil War-era old home.

I wrote the story because I had carried it inside me since I was eight years old. I was a molested child. Heavily molested. I wasn’t trafficked in the sense of the word today, although I was passed from one predator to another. I ended up hospitalized. And no one ever talked to me about what happened or how it happened.
