Your story must have resonated with many. My own father could be described much like yours. Gregarious outside the home. Stoic and unknowable in the home. His damage was the indirect cause of so much of my own failings as a father. I didn't have the example or tools to deal with being a good dad, so I stumbled through it and only now in hindsight can see the very valuable missed opportunities.
